It was only fitting that the TV show claiming New York City as its fifth character would stage its major stateside debut in the Big Apple. Last night's Sex and the City premiere featured all of the high-wattage glamour viewers have come to expect from Sarah Jessica Parker & Co., with the show's core quartet decked out in shimmering goddess-like gowns, fans screaming from the sidewalks, and a swanky after-party at the Museum of Modern Art (not to mention an exclusive after-after party at The Carlyle Hotel). There was even a minor disaster, as is wont in Carrie Bradshaw's world — Radio City Music Hall, the venue hosting the premiere, oversold the event, leaving 2,000 ticket-holders without seats.

In addition to Parker (in Nina Ricci), Kim Cattrall (in Vivienne Westwood), Kristin Davis (in Donna Karan), and Cynthia Nixon (in Narciso Rodriguez), a diverse group came out to fete the movie's stars; Ashley Olsen, Lil' Kim, Eli Manning, and Donald Trump all rubbed elbows on the Swarovski-strewn pink carpet. The biggest nod of approval came from Project Runway's Christian Siriano, who reportedly noted after the screening that, "the clothes were fabulous." Who needs Ebert when you've got the thumbs up from one fierce viewer?
