Notorious EMMANUELLE star SYLVIA KRISTEL has compared the 1974 pornographic classic to "ALICE IN WONDERLAND", insisting modern day sex films leave it looking "rather sweet".
The raunchy movie became the first commercially successful adult film on its release, and made its sexually voracious lead an instant star.
But 53-year-old Kristel maintains the controversial film is tame by today's standards.
She says, "Looking back, apart from the rape scene, it was rather sweet.
"With all the pornography around today, if Emmanuelle was released now everyone would compare it to Alice in Wonderland."
