RADCLIFFE'S BROADWAY RUN STRUGGLING TO SELL

DANIEL RADCLIFFE's naked turn in Broadway play EQUUS is failing to pull in theatregoers, according to U.S. reports.

The Harry Potter actor opened his run in Peter Schaffer's play at Manhattan's Broadhurst Theatre in September (08) to rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

The 19-year-old received praise from New York's notoriously tough theatrical press for his portrayal of Alan Strang, a 17-year-old schoolboy who is obsessed with horses.

But despite the praise for Radcliffe's take on the role, Equus is struggling to sell tickets, with reports suggesting just half of the theatre's seats are filled for each performance.

The lack of interest is a huge turn-around from the play's run in London's West End, which grossed $3.5 million (GBP2 million) in advanced ticket sales alone before enjoying a sold-out season in 2007.
