Actor Will Smith has credited his son JADEN with inspiring him to curb his growing number of action roles and star in romantic comedy HITCH.

Smith's six-year-old son felt his father needed to progress from movies like MEN IN Black, BAD BOYS and I, ROBOT, so the movie hunk was thrilled when he received the scripts for Hitch and animated feature film SHARK TALE.

He explains, "After I-Robot, he said, 'Daddy, that's really good but you don't need to save the world no more.'

"So then I made Shark Tale and Hitch. I just needed to mix it up.
