British hip-hop star DJ YODA was forced to cancel a gig on the island of Jersey on Saturday (28OCT06), after airport crew left his luggage in London.
The AMAZING ADVENTURES OF DJ YODA disc-spinner was turned away from Gatwick Airport when his DJ equipment was ruled to be too heavy for the FlyBe flight.
Gig promoters - fearing a riot by the 2,000 fans who had bought tickets for Yoda's performance on the Channel Island that night - with the help of a high ranking official at the Jersey office of tourism, arranged for the taxiing flight to return to the terminal so the equipment could be loaded.
But bungling handlers left the DJs other vital baggage behind, forcing him to axe the gig.
ALAN MACLEAN, the assistant minister for economic development in Jersey, has vowed to hold a full review of the incident and has apologised to the 57 other passengers on the flight who were inconvenienced.
Meanwhile, DJ Yoda has also apologised to fans and the other passengers on the flight saying, "I feel terrible that the airline failed to pack
my equipment and so I wasn't able to do the show but I promise to return to Jersey soon - but this time I think I'll drive."
