LATEST: SIR Paul McCartney and Heather Mills agreed on a temporary truce in their divorce battle yesterday (28OCT06) when they celebrated their daughter BEATRICE's third birthday together.

The former BEATLE and his estranged wife arrived at and left the event separately, but they did put up a united front at the two-hour birthday party in Hastings, England for the sake of their daughter.

The temporary truce comes after British newspapers printed alleged court documents in which Mills claims the 64-year-old attacked her when she was pregnant and, on another occasion, stabbed her in the arm with a broken wine glass.

McCartney is also accused of verbally abusing Mills, calling her an "ungrateful bitch", and objecting vociferously when the amputee asked to purchase an antique bedpan so she didn't have to crawl to the toilet during the night.
