Colombian pop beauty Shakira has been confirmed as the headliner at this year's (06) soccer World Cup in Germany, performing alongside hip-hop star Wyclef Jean.

The singer will perform her new hit MY HIPS DON'T LIE before the championship decider on 9 July at Berlin's Olympic stadium.

Her record label Sony BMG has enthusiastically endorsed the choice, insisting Shakira will be the perfect warm-up to a nail-biting match.

A spokesperson says, "It is sure to make the thousands and thousands of fans gathered at the stadium get up and dance before kick-off."
