VW Mini-Bus Mayhem It was one of this year’s automobile events that caused an exceptional amount of excitement. A total of 71,000 visitors converged on the Hanover Exhibition Centre last October, where the International VW Mini-Bus Meeting was held to celebrate 60 years of the Volkswagen Transporter. 5,100 VW Mini-Buses and VW Transporters made their way to the meeting, and 11,500 camping enthusiasts from 28 nations celebrated their cult-mobile, the Volkswagen Mini-Bus. “The International VW Mini-Bus Meeting was a truly remarkable experience,” says Harald Schomburg, the member of the board of management responsible for sales and marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and the man whose brainchild the event was, “not least, of course, thanks to all our loyal fans who brought their mini-buses along.
